We provide a positive, competitive yet inclusive, player oriented atmosphere where players of all ages learn not only the skills and strategies of the game, but the importance of team work, sportsmanship, camaraderie and honor.
(I will use the old email list this month and next month. Please forward this on to anyone who might not get it for some reason. After New Year's I will send out emails through the website.)
The Stanwood Lacrosse board met Sunday night and made progress toward the regular season in a number of areas. Most importantly, online registration is now open thanks to our webmaster, Doug. Please register as soon as possible because there is a cap on the number of players per team this year. You can pay online, send a check in the mail, or set up payments, but the most important thing is to sign up so we know how many players to prepare for.
We are working to keep uniform fees at $75 or less. The boys HS varsity uniform will be the same as last year. The JV uniform will be the older style uniform. Boys 3-8 players will be able to wear the uniform they currently own. We know that USL fees and increased registration costs are an impact on our families; unfortunately we do not currently have scholarship funding but hope to work toward this in the immediate future.
If players or families have program-owned equipment (such as long sticks, goalie gear, or HS uniforms that were not paid for), it is important to turn it in to your head coach or a board member by Thanksgiving. The program needs to complete a physical inventory to account for the equipment we have and plan what we need to acquire.
Please contact myself or another board member with any questions. A few documents are posted on the website including the budget, by-laws, board minutes, and a list of boys uniform numbers that were used last year. Our next board meeting is on Monday 12/9 at 6:30pm, location to be announced on web site. All board meetings are open.
So to summarize: Please register your player(s) and please turn in program gear and uniforms.
